Lluvia De Peces

Near a town of Yoro in Honduras, nearly every summer, an event known as ‘Lluvia De Peces’ or Fish Rain occurs. After a storm, fish appear to have fallen from the sky and are found on the floor.

There is no agreed scientific explanation for how this happens but the locals have different theories on why this phenomenon takes place.

Inspired by this story and the varied theories, I produced spreads for a picutre book concept that depicts the story of Lluvia De Peces.

I combined collage, gouache and pencil as it allowed my work to be vibrant and reminiscent of childhood nostalgia.
